  • client cant access internet if primary DC goes down...s2003

    hello...
I have one problem. We have one lan with xp clients and primary (ip xxx.xxx.xxx.100) and secondary (ip xxx.xxx.xxx.101) DC on win 2003. Everything work ok, but, if I disconnect network cable from primary dc, no one can access internet. Clients have configured preferred dns server dc1 ip adress and alternate is secondary dc. Both DC have dns integrated, have configured same forwarder and have global catalog. Both dc have preferred dns server ip adress from primary dc (xxx.xxx.xxx.100). I try to change client preferred dns server ip adress to secondary ip adress but with no success.

nslookup on client show only primary dc:
    Z:\>nslookup
    Default Server: hpserver.studio.ad
    Address: ...........100

nslookup on secondary dc show only primary dc:
    Z:\>nslookup
    Default Server: hpserver.studio.ad
    Address: ...........100

    ipconfig /all on secondary dc:

    resolved
stupid firewall is blocked connections. netdiag successfully run from secondary to primary, but not from primary to secondary. this will results in first to check windows firewall.
