  • Domain Unavailable!!

I've recently joined a company as system administrator, The users are not able to login to domain & show domain is unavailable. I checked the events & found "Netlogon" error with the even id 5723.

The session setup from computer 'HP22362121744' failed because the security database does not contain a trust account 'HP22362121744$' referenced by the specified computer.

If this is the first occurrence of this event for the specified computer and account, this may be a transient issue that doesn't require any action at this time. Otherwise, the following steps may be taken to resolve this problem:

If 'HP22362121744$' is a legitimate machine account for the computer 'HP22362121744', then 'HP22362121744' should be rejoined to the domain.

If 'HP22362121744$' is a legitimate interdomain trust account, then the trust should be recreated.

Otherwise, assuming that 'HP22362121744$' is not a legitimate account, the following action should be taken on 'HP22362121744':

If 'HP22362121744' is a Domain Controller, then the trust associated with 'HP22362121744$' should be deleted.

If 'HP22362121744' is not a Domain Controller, it should be disjoined from the domain.

I also perform the below tests:-

    C:\Program Files\Support Tools>dcdiag /test:services

    Domain Controller Diagnosis

    Performing initial setup:
    Done gathering initial info.

    Doing initial required tests

    Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\DC
    Starting test: Connectivity
    ......................... DC passed test Connectivity

    Doing primary tests

    Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\DC
    Starting test: Services
    ......................... DC passed test Services

    Running enterprise tests on :

Please advice what to do as many of the users are facing problem due to this.

Currently which antivirus your company are using, sometimes this occured because of virus infection.
Try to scan your computers with a good and up to date antvirus and observe it...............

This is a common event when the computer account's "secure channel" gets broken. There are generally 3 fixes for this:

1.) the use of Netdom reset to reset the secure channel on that client
2.) the use of NLTest to reset the secure channel on the client
3.) rejoin the client to the domain so the secure channel will be recreated between the PDC and the client

Here is a KB article that reviews the netdom process, hope this helps
