Remote desktop problem

  • Remote desktop problem

    I have to grant someone access to server view remote desktop, I created user and added to remote desktop users group, enabled remote desktop on server, however didn't work and I can't add him to administrators group
    any advice??

    Can you access the server via RDP ok?
    Are you getting an error saying the user cannot login, but you can?
    Can you ping the server from the remote location ok?

      You have to modify the Default Domain Controller Security Settings. (You can find the mmc in the administrative tools folder.)
      And under <Local Policies> <User Rights Assignment>
      you will need to add the user in the <Allow Log on through Terminal Services> Policy
      After that, don't forget to execute a gpudate /force to be sure that the setting is apply to the server.

      PS : do not forget to add the user under the <Remote Desktop User> (System properties -> remote -> Select remote user

        thanks solved my problem by adding the user to Allow Log on through Terminal Services
