  • Promoting windows 2003 server to dc with sql server 2000 installed

    hello everybody,
i would like to ask if someone has been in my situation before.
    i have a windows 2003 r2 server which runs a sql server.
i want to promote the server to a Domain Controller because i need to
install new CRM software which also runs on SQL server.
i want to ask do i have to expect any problems with the sql server after
promoting the standalone server to a domain controller?
are there any chances that the services won't run?
i know about an issue with the right's which have to be reassigned to the service.
is there anything else i have to know in order to make this happen without problems?

personally - i'd be very disinclined to have SQL on a DC.

and i'm not sure yon your thinking: you need to promote this server to be a dc, so you can install crm on it ?

It may be this is the only server in a workgroup and CRM needs a domain?

-After SQL Server is installed on a computer, you cannot change the computer from a domain member to a domain controller. You must uninstall SQL Server before you change the host computer to a domain controller.
