  • Cannot find user with "sa" login

I have very little experience with Sharepoint Services so do not know how it functions. I know even less about SQL (SQL2005 is installed).

I am rather baffled by the "sa" login reference. There are no users listed in Active Directory that have that login. Is this something that has been generated on the fly?

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please?

    Thanks.

Re: Cannot find user with "sa" login

System Administrator (SA) is the default username on a SQL server.
Do a Google for SA SQL for more info

Re: Cannot find user with "sa" login

The SA user is a "SQL only" user account with administrator rights on the SQL server and all related stuff. therefore you will not find it in AD similar to a local account on a member server.
