Re: WSUS is not showing any client

    And from the clients side?

Is the client configured to look at the WSUS server via GPO?
If yes, has the Policy been applied?
If yes, try to force a detection from the client with wuauclt.exe /detectnow

    For more: http://www.wsuswiki.com/WSUSClientFAQ
    and the related WSUSServerFAQ.

It should cover pretty much all the WSUS problems. (It has for me anyway )

Re: WSUS is not showing any client

      Thanks L4ndy,

      Here is the story,.....

client is not configured to look at the WSUS server via GPO

If I aply the policy on computer config>windows components>windows updates> enable the policy and run the diag here is the result comes:

      Checking Connection to WSUS/SUS Server
WUStatusServer is not set through Policy
WUServer is not set through Policy
      UseWuServer value is missing. . . . . . . . . . . . . . FAIL
      GetAUSettingsRegistry(true,pszUseWu,&dwUseWu) failed with hr=0x80070002
The system cannot find the file specified.

      Press Enter to Complete

I am running some tests from this link http://www.wsuswiki.com/WSUSClientFAQ

When I am trying these links http://wsusservername/iuident.cab
      http://wsusservername/selfupdate/AU/...N/wuaucomp.cab
with my server name two rar files are opening....

On this log %WinDir%\WindowsUpdate.log..this is the important result
      * Target group: (Unassigned Computers)
Agent * Windows Update access disabled: No
DnldMgr Download manager restoring 0 downloads
########### AU: Initializing Automatic Updates ###########
AU # AU is not configured yet

does it all makinig any sense.....
Could you please guide me what AU..or GPO Do I need to configure..Please...

Re: WSUS is not showing any client

I think your wsus gpo is not correct.

Could you paste me the settings ?

Re: WSUS is not showing any client

Yeah, it looks like the clients are not configured to point to the WSUS server because your GPO is not set properly.

          To do that:
To point the client computer to your WSUS server
          1. In Group Policy Object Editor, expand Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, expand Windows Components, and then click Windows Update.
          2. In the details pane, double-click Specify intranet Microsoft update service location.
          3. Click Enabled, and type the HTTP URL of the same WSUS server in the Set the intranet update service for detecting updates box and in the Set the intranet statistics server box. For example, type http://servername in both boxes.
          4. Click OK.

Also in the link there are info re other configurations.

            It was GPO issue.....
