From a user's workstation, can you ping the server name (ping SERV2)? If you can't ping, then internal DNS is not properly configured. (that's why Firefox redirects your request to http://www....)

When you try to access the site directly from the server, it changes to localhost, because localhost always points to the machine itself. (try "ping localhost" and you'll see what I mean)

In case your internal DNS is not working properly, try this: http://ServerIpAddress/DotNetNuke
If that works, then you'll just have to deal with configuring internal dns services.

    Hope this helps.

      Re: localhost redirection

it sounds to me the problem has more to do with DNN then DNS. I think I last installed DNN 4 years ago or so but as with most other CMS style apps, there should be a setting somewhere in the admin panel where you can specify the URL which users use to access the site. I know joomla, wordpress, phpbb and mediawiki have a setting like this, I would imagine DNN would be very similar. .
