  • setup cannot copy files during server 2003 installation

I've been havin this problem where files such as :
rdpdd.dll , regit.exe , riched20.dll , regeditS.chm, regwizc.dll ( while at the initial non-gui setup) and some other files from the gui setup will not copy or install.
i've ran tru 3 server 2003 cds and all have the same problem. i downloaded the 1st two and the last i got from a friend.

my only choice is to press "ESC" to skip the files and continue the install. wen the setup does complete, certain functions cannot start nor execute.

i have installed it on an older pc:
    k8m800-m7a - biostar
    amd sempron 1.4ghz
    512mb and 1gb ram (512 x 2) ddr
    80gb western digi hd sata
VIA S3 UniChrome, On Board Graphic Max. Memory Share Up to 64MB

on a newer pc: ubuntu 9.10, ran win server via virtual box jus to test...
    foxcon m61pmv
    3gb ram ddr 2
    250gb hd
    amd triple core
    NVIDIAŽ GeForce 6100 + nForce 430

first i thought it was the age of the pc but wen i tried it on the new one i started to think maybe there was a problem with it possible being copied software as the 1st too was dloaded...

    i need a 3rd opinion... tanks

    Maybe a memory issue ...
Windows is good as being little stuck during the copy with some defect memory.
Try to install the server with only one of the memory to try to detect the one that are defect.
From the land of the rising sun ...

thats a high possibility.. as the board i believe is a bit faulty or the ram is...

though this possibilty was ruled out wen i tried it on the virtual machine and the same cannot copy files issue arose.

any other suggestions? tanks for the reply btw
