  • FTP Accounts not allowing upload outside network

    Hi newbie here,

I have setup the FTP account with the correct permissions to read/write and my clients still can't upload to the FTP site... NOTE: I can upload using their logon from my network. Could this be a firewall problem?

    Running: Windows Server 2003 sp2 w/ IIS 6.0

This is the error they receive...

An error occurred copying a file to the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server.

    Details:
    200 Type set to I.
    227 Entering Passive Mode (141,156,124,168,80,222)
    550 Requested action not taken

Can anyone provide me a link or something that may help fix this headache?

    Thanks in advance,
    JustiN

Open Port 21 on the Router and Port Forward it to the Internal IP of the FTP Server.
Do you have an A Record for your FTP Server published in your ISP's DNS Server?

If your using Passive you will also need to allow those ports as well.
