  • Dynamic Disk question

I just read this page and I would like to be sure of one thing.

    To just do this :
A spanned volume is created from free disk space that is linked together from multiple disks. You can extend a spanned volume onto a maximum of 32 disks. A spanned volume cannot be mirrored and is not fault-tolerant.

Do I need a raid controler on the computer ?

In other words: can I make one logical volume out of multiple physical disks without a raid controler ?
I do not want "mirror", "strippe" or anything like that. I just want to see all the HD as one.

Thanks in advance for your answer.
(I am a French speaking person, sorry for the bad English )

When Dynamic disks are created by windows and RAID type technology is involved then Windows uses its own software RAID. No hardware RAID controller is needed.
