  • switching between ipv4 and ipv6 via command line

    Hi,

Is it possible to disable /enable ipv6 and ipv4 protocols via command line in server 2003.
    In server 2008 i have "netsh interface ipv6/ipv4 install/uninstall"
(it's a little bit inconvenient way because requires logout but works)
but there are no such option in 2003 for ipv4.

devcon.exe and cnic.exe also have no such options...

    ~regards.

      Yep,
But unfortunetly netsh is pretty different on 2003 and 2008.
Here are commands for netsh interface ip on 2003:

      Commands in this context:
      ? - Displays a list of commands.
add - Adds a configuration entry to a table.
delete - Deletes a configuration entry from a table.
dump - Displays a configuration script.
help - Displays a list of commands.
reset - Resets TCP/IP and related components to a clean state.
      set - Sets configuration information.
      show - Displays information.

(there are no uninstall and install options)

And this is netsh interface ipv4 on 2008:

      C:\Users\i041912>netsh interface ipv4

      The following commands are available:

      Commands in this context:
      ? - Displays a list of commands.
add - Adds a configuration entry to a table.
delete - Deletes a configuration entry from a table.
dump - Displays a configuration script.
help - Displays a list of commands.
install - Install the IP protocol.
reset - Reset the IP configurations.
      set - Sets configuration information.
      show - Displays information.
uninstall - Uninstall the IP protocol.

It's a pain in the ass to uninstall TCP/IP protocol in win 2003...

          Yeah,
But TCP/IP stays active... and I want to be disabled...

          Damn. It's a harder than I thought...

You want to use IPv6 without using the TCP/IP stack....

            Im confused.
