  • [2K3] How to Removing 1 of 3 Win2003 Domain Controllers

[If my server in N.J is no longer going to be part of our network and now belongs to another company, what are the effects on the existing network and how do I correctly uninstall this N.J server from our network domain.???]

    >This is the server Enviorment.
all servers are in the same domain
    and replicate with each other.
All servers are Windows 2003 - Active D.

    Region1:
Main office has in N.Y and controllers network.
    ServerNY1 - PDC
    ServerNY2 - DC

Region2 Office will be taken over by another company
and will soon not be a part of our network
    ServerNJ3 - DC

    Thanks

ensure any resources in region2 that need to be accessed in region1 are transferred.

demote the server from your domain.
    remove the network connection.

it then becomes their issue to re-promot the domain controller, and provide user accounts etc.

If the server is going to another company, ensure you wipe its hard drives in compliance with your company's policies and relevant legislation.
