  • Controlling printers in Windows Networks

We have certain sensitive documents stored on our network that we need to control where they print. Is it possible to link a folder to a specific printer so that documents in that folder cannot be printed on any other printer except the one they are assigned?

Also, we need to control the users that can print those documents as well without limiting their ability to print other applications. Has anyone ever done something like this? Any Ideas? Any third party options?

    Thanks

Have a look for Windows Rights Management -- IIRC it was introduced in Server 2003 R2, and allows you to control access to documents

Note this is not the same as DRM that applies to music and media!
