    Help on security mechanisms needed

Hi all I have these few questions I would like to have answered as I am stuck

    1. I am running McAfee 8.7i. It updates well when a client is connected directly to the Internet but fails when connecting through a proxy which runs on port 8080. Is there a way how I could make it update via proxy?
    Answer:

    2. Is there an antispyware program which autoupdates on its own just like an antivirus and if possible updates via a proxy as well?
    Answer:

    3. Does anybody knows of a way how I could block access to the USB ports of some of the clients connected to our company domain?
    Answer:

    4. Is there a system which we can use so that we will be able to see the users in which sites they go...in a form of report? and also block access to bad web sites.
    Answer:

You could copy and paste the above with the answers!!

    That is all.
    Thanks )

    1. Look for a setting in McAfee that allows you to set it to use your proxy.

    2. Windows Defender comes to mind.

    3. IDK.

    4. There are a number of applications/hardware that does this. My advice would be to google your question.

      1- https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/inde...ent&id=KB60150

2- what are you using at the moment? Some AS can be configured and scheduled to update by specifying a proxy and others can just detect the proxy settings of the browser.

3- http://www.petri.com/disable_usb_disks_with_gpo.htm only works for storage devices (You wouldn't want to block USB mice and keyboards anyway)

4- Surfcontrol, websense a couple of examples but as suggested, google for a wider option.

        4. Forefront will do this. It's still only in Beta though.
It will also do reverse proxying, nac/nap, vpn termination.

Of course - since your Mcafee product is already having trouble going through the proxy, I'd suggest you already have a proxy.. so you're better off just setting up reporting on that proxy.
