  • IP Address converted to DNS

    I need to create a DNS entry so i can remember by the name instead of IP address. if someone can tell me where i need to create a DNS entires i would grealty appreicated.

    basically i added new dell servera and dell servers comes with DRAC cards. currently i have to access them by IP address and i am hoping to give it a dns name so i can will be easy to remember.

    Assuming you have windows DNS installed, just add an A record
    Of course, in an emergency you would need the DNS server to be running to resolve the name

    You could also add them to the hosts file on your local PC

      i think you can actually tell the drac to register itself in DNS

      also - why not type in the ip address for one time, and then add it to your IE favourites ?
