  • How to change remote desktop port on the win2k3 admin page?

    Hi all,

I've been looking all over the web for a way to change the port on which the windows 2003 administrative page (maintenance section) uses to establish a remote desktop connection over the web, and I have been unsuccessful.

The thing is, I needed to change the port for which windows listens for remote desktop connection (3389), and I did so using the regedit way, however when I go to the administrative page-> Maintenance -> Remote desktop, it still uses port 3389.

Can someone help me out plz?

Can you tell us how you tried to change it?

The admin page port is changable via the ISM, properties on the website, and you'll see the TCP Port option. Make sure it doesn't use SSL, because if it does (and I think it does) you'll need to change the SSL port too.

The TS listener port itself is changable via the registry, and if you follow my article (see main site) there is no way you can miss it.
    Cheers,
