Active Directory Replications and DNS Server

Hey Guy's, i have made a replication from sbs2008 and win2008, and my questions is, do i have to install dns server in win2003 ? i dont have it installed atm and it seem to be working ok. As all server's they have fixed ip, and in the dns i have put the sbs2008 ip, is that correct to do ? or it's better to install dns server as well in 2003 ?

    Regards
    Kevin

you shouldn't HAVE to install DNS. It would just give you a little bit of redundancy.. especially if your SBS domain controller breaks, then it doens't matter that your domain has replicated, the domain will start failing if it cannot look up records in AD.

DNS is a pre-requisite for AD... it'll run with only one DNS server no problems.. but a second would provide the redundancy you are probably looking to create with the second dc
