  • Server 20003 enteprise terminals server in application mode

I do not get my server 2003 in application mode, i do not know sure if it is prohibited because I run exchange server 2003 on it, or any other application that runs on it.

Is you server a Small Business Server 2003?

Terminal Server is available on the Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter editions of Windows Server 2003. In Windows Small Business Server 2003, only the Remote Desktop for Administration mode is available, because Windows Small Business Server 2003 always runs on a domain controller.

There is no reason why this should not work. What error do you get? At what point exactly are you failing? Is admin mode (remote desktop) working normally?

I do not get any errors, I just cannot activate applicationmode, or i don't know how to do it. RDP does work normally.

I think wkasdo ask if you can add the terminal services to your server with administration mode?
                  Can you install the service?

                    OK.

control panel -> add/remove programs -> windows components -> Terminal Server.

You will need a license server as well, but I guess you know that.

i have the licence server installed, but i guess i need to test terminal server with a key, as far as i know i never used the terminal server yet. so the trail key should work

                          Hi,

You say you have the Terminal Services License Server installed, but is the option above it, 'Terminal Services' installed too?? (In Add/Remove Programs > Windows Components)

As far I as can remember, Terminal Services will run without a license key for 60 days, after that it will stop and you'll need to add a license number.
                          1 + 1 = 11 ... honest!

                            in addition

windows nt 4 terminal server support 60 days of temp license.
windows 2000 terminal server support 90 days of temp license.
windows 2003 terminal server support 120 days of temp license.
