  • Monitoring Hardware in Windows Server 2003/2008

    Hello,
I need to monitor status of basic hardware componencts in Windows Server 2003 and later 2008 as well. I mean to be notified about disk failure, faulty ram etc.

Can you suggest any solution please? Is there any straightforward solution?

I know there is an OpenManage for Dell, IBM Director for IBM server but it will take some time to get it running and I need a solution in a very short time.

I was thinking about Performance Counters but I am not sure if they are applicable.

    Thank you

What brand hardware are you running. If it's Dell then IMHO setting up DOMSA and DITA is pretty quick and pretty straightforward.

You can configure in the management module of the Blade Center that will give you environmental alerts
