  • Date and time setting

    Hi

i've searched a lot for a solution for this issue

i have 2003DC with some clients in it.

some clients have thier date and time as the DC but others have thier time 1hour more
    server time: 11:00 am
    some clients: 11:00am
    others : 12:00pm

also i have found that when i send any email, the time that appears at the recipient is 1 hour more the actual time
this started happening from 4 days ago.

any solution to make all of the client use the same server data and time settings.

Have you installed all windows patches on all windows machines?
Have you checked each machines time zone is correct?
    cheers

        Hi

I hope your machine is in a different zone(PST) and you haven't install the day light saving patches.

          thank you all

i found that the " automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes " is checked in the clients. when i deselect it everything works ok

but i was wondering , are there any policy that make it possible to uncheck this to all of the domain clients? or i have to do it manually ?

          thank you.

To disable automatic adjustment for DST with a GPO (computer configuration) you can create a custom ADM or use a startup script that do the necessary modification in the HKLM registry subkey on the computer, see: http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/1283/

Also....since you mentioned mail-- If you're using Lotus Notes make sure that you tell the client to use the Operating System's Time Zone settings.

Under edit current, Advanced tab under advanced settings

I know it's weird but we had that problem with Notes happen seemingly out of the blue..

                Good point.
In Outlook there is also this user preference in Calendar Options -> [Time zone].
