  • Add a new domain controller on an existing win server2003

    dear all,
i have four domain controller and my network. i have ost one after fire, i would like to rebuild it. this is what i am planing to do:
    - reinstall winserver2003 on a new server
    - delete the old domain controller on the primary domain controller (on site i delete the old server, i will take the third option the DC is offline)
    - add the new server on the existing domain
    - redo the replication on that new server on the primary domain.
is that process ok or i forgot something important to do first.
hopping to get reply from before starting the process.
    thanks

Looks OK. Make sure you seize any FSMO roles that the old DC may have held, and also replace any other services (E.g. DHCP) that may have been running.

BTW there is no such thing as a "Primary Domain Controller" anymore. There is a PDC Emulator FSMO role for backwards NT4 compatibility but all DCs are created equally since Windows 2000 Server.
