  • Windows 2003 DC and Exchange 2003

I had a failing domain controller that I believe was successfully demoted before it was decomissioned. It doesnt show up using ntdsutils. All the fsmo roles were transfered to other boxes (I am pretty sure).

However - in the AD Sites and Services MMC under Sites / default-first-site-name / servers the server is listed along with the other DCs, but under it it doesnt show NTDS Settings (which I would expect) but it does have a folder that says "Exchange settings" There does not appear to be anything configured in it.

Does anyone have any ideas why that would still be there? Is there soemthing in Exchange 2003 that I have to change?

is that SBS 2003? will make sense if it is. because you can't seperate them. But since there is not settings and if u are happy about the new exchange. I wouldn't worry about that.

Sorry didnt mention that they are separate servers not SBS. Exchange seems to be running fine.
