  • DHCP giving out IP's and assigning them as Unique RAS

    HI,
I have 2 DC's, Server2003, RRAS setup, 25 IP's setup on each for DHCP VPN
clients. The problem I am seeing is internal hosts get multiple IP's assigned
to them, with Unique type and for RAS. These hosts do not dial in nor do they
    connect via VPN.

Have you create a scope class just for dial in users?
Why you do not use a static address list of Ip's for dial in users them exclude that address from your scope :P

That i suppose it is a scope from DHCP right?!
And that scope have class difined?
Your solution could be in create a pool of IP's in the table of RAS server properties.

I have a pool on the RAS properties. 192.168.4.100 - .25 on one server and 4.25 - 4.49 on the other.
Still doesnt explain why my LAN clients are doin gthis. It is always these 2 hosts. I have to manually delete the entries in DHCP

Do you have DHCP Relay Agent?

HummMM I think you do not have DHCP relay because you must add it to RAS.

After I asked....I found it in RRAS...but I also looked at 21 of the machines in question and RRAS was set uu on that without using static IPS and using DHCP, which may be why I see them in my production DHCP..I will watch for a day or 2 to see if thay come back....thanks
