  • Admistrator cannot log in

Can anyone throw light on this error at the 2003 Server login prompt -

'the system cannot log you on due to the following error : not enough storage is available to process this command'

Starting in safe mode we can see there is space on C drive.

    Is it an erroneous error?

Any thoughts how we can correct this or get around to log in as administrator when the server is up normally and at the login prompt.

    Thanks

Have you tried rebooting the server?

Strangely I was having the same issue since last night.

Tried rebooting and no different. I eventually gave up and did a Repair from 2003 server CD. ..... now all looks good except I cannot launch Active Directory Users and Computers.
MMC cannot open file C:\Windows\System32\dsa.msc ???

When I find the answer to thiS I will Post.

      Cheers

Try reinstalling the admin pack tools that correspond to the SP installed on the server.

          Could you give more information?

Do you have roaming profiles installed and if so, where are they located? Another Server / NAS / SAN / etc..

Is this is a terminal server or specifically what roles are installed?

I ran into this on my Terminal server trying to cache profiles locally from a roaming profile.

          Thanks,
          Hobie

            Follow up

After using the 2003 serer CD to repair - I could logon

I ran Service Pack 2 restarted and back to square one - 'the system cannot log you on due to the following error : not enough storage is available to process this command'

the whole afternoon wasted and I an no further ahead.

            No roaming profiles.

                Re: Admistrator cannot log in

Found our problem, it was full of trojans.

We are running Symantec Endpoint Protection and an offsight email scan service and we still had a lot of issues.
Unknown user accounts, and 6 different trojans.

                I am currently rebuilding ours.

I'm confused with this one. Tongers was the original postee.

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack Tonger's thread.
I was having the same error last week and this is what I found.

tongers, i'd suspect that you genuinely have a disk space issue on the C: drive or something.

archive all your old logs as a starting point, check for that pesky WBEM log file issue where it grows more than it's expected size. (I found a 4GB one on a server once)

No worries. Didn't want Tongers to be overlooked.
