  • EpsPort ?

    Has anyone ever heard of the EpsPort service ? It generated some errors for one of our clients.. however I've been unable to find any information about it online at all.....it doesn't appear in the services console, but does appear in the registry.

    The error we were alerted to is as follows:

    Event ID 7000
    The EpsPort service failed to start due to the following error:
    The system cannot find the device specified.

    The Registry keys are attached. Any thoughts ?

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\EpsPort]
    "Group"="Extended Base"
    "Type"=dword:00000001
    "Start"=dword:00000002
    "ErrorControl"=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\EpsPort\Enum]
    "Count"=dword:00000000
    "NextInstance"=dword:00000000
    "INITSTARTFAILED"=dword:00000001

    Re: EpsPort ?

    Very, very few returns come back from a Google search. The only mention of it seems to be in connection with Citrix. Do you have anything to do with Citrix on that machine? The RegKey doesn't come back with much either. What a lonely error.

      The best I could get from Google is related to Power Over Ethernet. EPS would seem to stand for Ethernet Power Source or External Power Supply.

            Sounds like a printer port? Encapsulated PostScript?
