  • Users & Shared Folders SOS

    I have installed a network with Windows 2003 server(server) and Windows 98 and xp (WORKSTATION). what happens is that when I assign a user to a shared folder, and I go away from the workstation to open my shared folder enters but shows to all the shared folders, but only should shows my folder and dont others shared folders.

      What UNC are you using to connect to the shares and what setup do you have for the shares ?

      Do you have

      \\server\share\username1 (etc) or \\server\username1 (etc)

      If you have the first then it is possible for Win 2K and XP but not 9x, I don't know the history of it but you can only map to top level shares (e.g. \\server\username)
