  • DC Server Time

    Hello,
I noticed that in the event logs I am getting a different Server time than that is actually seen on the screen. This is a Domain Controller server 2003.
    Is this a known issue?

Are you syncing with an external time server???

Can you post a screen shot of the problem??

      Hi,

What's the time difference? Can you give any specific details. Note that the time on the event log is stamped when the event occurrs.

        Re: DC Server Time

The difference is around 2 hours between the time I see on the server and the time of the event log (in it I mean).
We do have an external time server we are sync with.
Here is an example of the error I get:

        event ID:3
        Date: 3/9/2009 source: kerberos
        Time: 12:17:38pm
        desc:
        Server Time: 10:17:38.0000 3/9/2009 Z
        Error Code: 0x18 KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_FAILED

Check your time zones are they correct??

If they are correct set the time manually and see what happens.

Is this your PDC that is syncing with the external time server???

Yes, Willieb1 is right. your other post is related to this one.

Another thing to check is that you've applied all the DST patches from MS.
