  • The browser was unable to update the service status bits.

The following error is logged on all my DCs -

The browser was unable to update the service status bits. Event Id - 8007, Source - Browser

When this error is logged the DC locks up. I can't login to the DCs, it just sits on applying personal settings at the logon screen.

Users are still able to authenticate while the DCs are locked up.

All DCs are Windows Server 2003 St Ed R2 SP2.

There are 4 domains all in their own forests.

This error starting occurring on the weekend. No changes have been made to the network.

I have searched the Internet and can't find much on this error and what causes it.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I am having a similar situation. The first time I saw this in my event viewer was the 5th of this month and since then the computer has acted weird. Did you guys find out anything?
