  • RIS for multiple domains

    Hi,

I have a RIS running in my domain(abc.com) without any issues. I have configured RIS to create accounts in particular OS when they built through this server.

Recently, I have added a child domain(xyz.abc.com) to my existing domain(abc.com) and I want to make use of same RIS server for building machines in xyz.abc.com domain. Is it possible?

My RIS server is running with windows server 2003 with SP2

    Thanks,

What happens when you try to get your dhild domain to connect to the RIS server? Have you tried prestaging the computer account? I had RIS running in a multidomain environment and prestaged computer accounts.

Why don't you just give it a go first and post any problems.
It should be ok as long as both domains are in the same broadcast domain or allow DHCP traffic comunication.
Failing that you could just setup a RIS on the child domain and authorize it as DHCP server.
