    hi folks,

    does anybody know the full form of .msc we use in the commandline commands for microsoft management consoles. i mean compmgmt.msc... like that. and also the full form of .cpl in appwiz.cpl please

    What exactly do you mean by "full form"? What do you want to know?

      MSCs that come with the system are in the system 32 folder, which is in the Windows folder.

      You can use the run command to invoke them without inputting the path.

      So Start, Run (or search feature of Vista), Name of MSC. e.g. gpedit.msc

      You can look in there to get a list of all the MSCs automatically available.

      To create your own, type MMC in to the run box. Then File, Add/Remove snapins. If you save your own custom MSC to the system32 folder with your appropriate name, you can then invoke it using the above procedure.

                  jdsony, could you post back at some point to let us know if your question has been answered? Because you didn't clarify what you were looking for, we've had to make assumptions, so have no way of knowing if we've helped or not.
