  • ReadOnly IIS Console

    Hey everyone,

I need to create read-only user to the IIS console.
the user profile is located on a webserver,
and the user should open RDP connection to this server and be able to view the IIS console in a read-only mode.

I looked in the local policy console but i didn't found anything that can help me (i may be blind )

the server is part of 2 clustered servers working in a workgroup (not a domain)

    Thanke you for your help
    Appreciate it

My research suggests it's not possible. What do you stand to gain by allowing a user to look but not touch?

Not sure it's possible. The GUI IIS manager needs local admin rights
    to use.

If you told us *why* you thought you needed these rights, perhaps
there's another option we could suggest.

This is possible only with IIS7 on Server 2008.

Interesting. Do you happen to know if that also applies to Vista? Or whether it's a feature of either IIS or MMC?

I doubt it but run through it on Vista and see if its available.
