  • exporting events properties

    Hi all,

I have few win2003 sp2 servers , am looking for a tool to export data from the event logs. Not the event lists but the data in the event (event properties).

    Thanks.

Not quite sure what the data is worth without the rest of the info but is this any good?

      Re: exporting events properties

      thanks.
the link you gave linked to 2000srv tool - did you try it on 2003?

maybe i need to be more clear about the need:
lets say i am filtering the event log to a certain event id --> if i export it now normaly i'd get date time event id user etc' without event properties (the data within each event) - thats the info i need - i asume i am the first to need it....

        Re: exporting events properties

        From the page itslf:
"The Event Comb tool is included in the Windows Server 2003 resource kit tools." so there shouldn't be a problem on 2003. I run it from XP personally and it works really well.

For the data make sure you select the "Options, Data, Print data as" then words or bytes as required.
