  • Samba printer on MAC cannot print to Windows printer

    Hello,

I have a mixed environment of WinXP and MAC users. WinXP systems print fine but MACS cannot.

The server has Win2003 R2 installed.
The macs are mixed between 10.4 and 10.5 and all are configured through Samba for the printer share installed on the windows server.

Ever since I applied the security update 957097 MAC users can no longer print or connect to the server.

When trying to print they get an error saying Unable to connect to SAMBA host.
When trying to connect to the server I get an error stating the username or password is not good but I never got to enter a username or password.

I removed the security update but still no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

How many Mac's? Could you just do IP printing?? Are these Mac's connected to the AD domain?

It seems as though they aren't authenticating properly in order to be able to see the SMB shares.

Look into here to see if you can find any info on it that will point to your issues.
