  • Removing Exchange 2003 Standard without deleting users

I'm moving my small LAN environment to UNIX-based mail system, but I want to keep the windows domain active (for shared resources, centralized login management, etc).

So my question is, how do I mail-disable users (thus destroying their Exchange mailboxes) without deleting the user from ActiveDirectory? I need to have all users removed so that Exchange will uninstall cleanly. The system is Windows 2003 Stanard with Exchange 2003 Standard (SP2 applied).

    Thanks!

HI, go to active directory users and computers, right click the user account, choose exchange tasks and choose delete mailbox.

I do tend to think 'outside the box' so others may not always share the same views.
