  • Reinstalling Windows Without Losing Data on PowerVault

I have a PowerEdge 2950 (2K3 server std) connected to a Powervault 220S which has RAID 5 configured. On the Windows box, there are a couple of partitions set up for the PowerVault which have data on them.

Now, I have to do a fresh install of the OS on the 2950. Once re-installed, how will the Powervault drive be shown on Windows - as a single partition?

How would I go about doing this fresh install without losing any data on the Powervault? Thanks.

    Just for my interests...
Why do you want to reinstall the OS?
If it work don't fix it..

I have to re-install it because WMI is broken and having tried other methods to fix the issue, I'm left with the last option of having to re-install. This is also Microsoft's ultimate fix action.
