  • I hate computers!

Trying to connect to a server using a terminal services session with the console switch so I type

    mstsc /v:servername /console

I get an error message about the remote computer being too busy to accept connection.

    Now I type

mstsc and enter the ip address manually - session starts

Go to a command prompt on the machine and ping servername - works fine.

I think I am losing it!!

I'm sure that with a better subject line you're likely to get more replies, don't you think?

heh had a very similar problem in W2000 where the user HAD to be a local admin as otherwise they could not connect to terminal server through the server name yet basic name resolution would work fine

just one of those things I shook my head at, gave up and walked to the bar to get drunk and try to forget... lol
