  • Switched to Workgroup and Can't Access Accounts

    OS: Server 2003 R2

I switched to Active Directory then I switched back to workgroup....didn't do anything else.
Now I can't log on into any of the accounts.

It says "The system cannot log you on. Make sure your password and domain are correct"
What domain, the computer is now workgroup? I think that is what messed things up.

anyone know how I can fix this?

    Thanks

Re: Switched to Workgroup and Can't Access Accounts

Are you using the correct password when logging in?? You need to use a local account for the machine not an AD account for a domain.

BTW that is just a standard error message.

Log on as the local administrator and check your local accounts, you might find them disabled, if not reset their passwords and try logging on as them.

I was trying to log in as administrator account which I had renamed, but for some reason the renamed account didn't work.

I tired logging in as administrator (typed exactly this way) and it worked. When I went to compmgmt.msc I noticed that all the accounts had been deleted.

So now I got everything back...no problem.

        THanks
