    Hey guys,

Does anyone have any experience with a windows server 2003 / 2008 mixed environment?

We are running 2003 right now - I am happy with it and i know it fairly well. We are putting together a couple new servers and, for reasons beyond my control, 2008 is being pushed. I need to decide whether or not it is worth raising a fuss.

    What do you guys think?

While 2003 is a mature and stable product, 2008 is the latest offering from MS and my opinion would be to go ahead with 2008. Use this as an opportunity to get your feet wet with it.

Once you have upgraded AD to allow Server 2008 domain controllers, I have found no problems with a mixed environment of 2003/2008 DCs

        Re: 2003/2008 interoperability

We have 2008 as member servers and other than the disgruntled admin comments from the NT admins, everything works well. As a member server, it didn't require any schema modification. We don't have any 2008 DC's but we are hoping to deploy them over the next year.

Thank you all for your feedback. I guess I'll go ahead and jump in.
