  • Largest hard disk under 2K Advanced Server?

I've added a 160GB HDD to my W2K Advanced machine. The BIOS detects it accurately as a 160 GB unit, but Disk Management will only show 128 GB. Is there a limit? Any workarounds? Service Packs? Should I upgrade to 2003?

What Service Pack is running on this server?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.

This can occur if the disk is formatted as FAT32.

For more information on NTFS read this... (*)

The left most column should read 2003/XP I suspect its a typo.

It has little to do with the file system if the system cannot see the physical drive! Anyway, 128+ GB is supported, but you need to enable it.

Thanks Wkasdo. I would have been badly sucked because I thought SP3 was supposed to fix that. Didn't know about the Registry change.
