  • DHCP option 150 not sent by 2003 server

    Hi All,

I am using DHCP server of Windows 2003 for sending option 150 (TFTP server's IP address) in the DHCP ACK message. I have configured predefined option 150 by adding new option type under the DHCP server with Name=TFTP server, Data Type=IP address, Code=150, Array-checked. Under "Scope Options", I selected the predefined option 150 & added the IP address of the TFTP server & activated the scope. But when the server sends DHCP ACK message in response to DHCP REQUEST, it doesnt send option 150 in it. Please help me out to solve this issue.

    Regards,
    Bhaaski

How are you sure it is not sending the 150 option?
Can it be that it is sending it, but the client isn't receiving it??
I had this problem, and found that the router was dropping it.

I am running this within my LAN for some test & it doesn't go through any router. I sniffed the DHCP ACK sent by the server. It doesn't have option 150. Any idea, why it's not sent?

IIRC DHCP is broadcast, therefore non-routable
