  • Disabling Recursive query and internet access

We have 2 separate servers, DNS1 (primary dns), WEB1 (secondary dns). We recently disabled Recursive Queries in DNS1.

Now we can go to internet thru DNS1. But we can't get access to internet thru WEB1. We can go some of the sites thru WEB1 adding IP address in local host file.
I stopped DNS server in WEB1 and tried to go to internet, same results.

    Appreciate any ideas!

Re: Disabling Recursive query and internet access

In web1 we tried to add foreign DNS IP address for ISP but still no results. But we can access some of the internet sites adding in hosts file.

The main concern in Web1, users would access an web application at Web1 and at certain stage it would go to internet to get access to other site in the internet.

Have you configured forwarders within the DNS console?
