  • restore ad using backup exec

    hi all

    backup exec 12 with 2 remote agents
    on server 2003

    how can i rstore active directory from the remote location?
    i installed ad remote agent
    yet i on the redirection option only:
    file, exchange, sql, share point
    should i see ad in order to restore it?

    To backup AD mate. You need to backup system state data of server. When you browse your computer you will find system state under c:,d:. The system state contain all information related to AD including registery settings and com+ class. So if you are looking to backup AD include system state in backup routine.

      I think you need to reboot into DS Restore Mode. I don't think you can do this remotly... easily anyway.

        iLO is good but personally I would prefer to be there all the same. Unless it is a holiday of course...

          iLO would require the Advanced iLO license.

          You can edit boot.ini so the server boots directly into DSRM.
