  • using SMTP server on my network

I hope this is any easy question. I have an email server that is one my network, 204.xxx.xxx.xxx. It is defined by my DNS manager and mail.domain.com.

I also have a webserver, on a different network, that uses the local smtp server (IIS6) to send out emails based on events in coordination with the web application. It is on the network, 68.xxx.xxx.xxx.

The ip of the webserver, consistently get picked up on The CBL because the HELO message displays "localhost".

How should I configure the local smtp server to keep it from getting hit on The CBL?

    Thanks.

Configure your local smtp server to accept authenticated relaying and configure your remote smtp server to uae authentication when sending to your local smtp server.
