Has anyone seen and done anything about this new issue?

    bbc story

Plus you can get an assessment of the vulnerability here.

We are going to be applying the patches soon, but need to test them first before putting them on our production servers. Anyone had any problems with this yet?

My ISP hasn't updated their name servers yet, so that's not a great help!

Sorry if this article is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to put it!

Yes true, but there is different ways to exploit it. And this latest news refers to such an exploit.
