  • Remote installation with non-PXE network card

    Hi.
    i have some trouble!
    i want to install Windows to my 16 computers with non-PXE network card!
    I install AD+DHCP+RIS server
    Then, I create boot disk with RBFG util, but my card are not supported

    btw: my network card is DFE-538

    So, how can i boot from network now ?

    Use intel !!!

    you can try to load the RTL8139 driver ... it might work

      Yes, i know!
      But how ?
      AFAIK, RBFG doesn't allow you to add any network drivers.
      Also, i try to use ethboot - but it can't load windows boot loader from TFTP

        Thats right you can't add the drivers. You could try a third party RBFG prog:

          Is there a Kingston KE 120 driver listed? If so, try that.
          1 1 was a racehorse.

              Errr thats illegal so err no! You could try to get the RBFG from Windows Server 2003 which has better support for more cards. I dont think the DLink ones are any good anyway. We've had to get rid of loads of them to get RIS to work site wide. You might want to look at doing the same!

                I agree Tony. It's probably easier to just dump Dlink and use a more compatiable NIC.
