Re: dns have wrong redirection .com domains...

looks like you have two DNS servers.. Does both DNS servers cause the same issue? Does this affect all workstations? Or is it effecting some and not others.
What do I know, I am only 26.

Re: dns have wrong redirection .com domains...

yes, we have three dns servers. one is old dns server and other two is on my new dc controlers. my dns servers have forwarders defined. but, this problem with wrong redirection is here randomly, not constant. and problem affect some workstations and other not in my domain, but sometimes is affect all. very confusing situation. I am try localy change dns adresses in ip tcp/ip but with no results.

Re: dns have wrong redirection .com domains...

on your new DC'S did you look at your DNS logs in event viewer?

Also, when it happens do a nslookup and see what DNS is it using and maybe try to change the DNS, im thinking there may be an issue with the NT server causing this, but sure its hard to tell without actually looking on the network, maybe someone else has some insight on this or has ran into this situation before! It seems a little crazy.

nslookup point to my dc1. I am try change dns adress server to several isp's, but with no results. in event viewer only error is event 3000:
The DNS server has encountered numerous run-time events. To determine the initial cause of these run-time events, examine the DNS server event log entries that precede this event. To prevent the DNS server from filling the event log too quickly, subsequent events with Event IDs higher than 3000 will be suppressed until events are no longer being generated at a high rate.

try clearing the dns cache and see if it happens again.

I am try this solution but without effect. Is it possible that defined forwarders dont respond? I can ping it.

My "longshot" guess (as I've skip read this) is you have a PIX firewall that has fixup DNS on it.

                    Try something like this:
                    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832223
                    cheers
