  • How to configure Users to access FTP site using the internet browser.

    Hi everyone,

I have a FTP setup on one of the company servers. To access our FTP internally we use this IP address on the browser:

    ftp://XXX.XXX.X.XXX/

Then it prompts me a username and password.

It will not accept any of the user names or passwords except only the Administrator username and password works just fine.

I went into the Active directory and look at the tab members and I do see my username listed. So I don’t know what else to do.

How can I get the users in our company to use their usernames and passwords to access our FTP site by using the internet browser?

The FTP site is running on windows 2000 advance server and the users are running on Windows XP Pro sp2

You need to manage your users from IIS. I know this guide is quite old but it should help you get done what you need to.

      Thank you for ]SK[.

      I figured it out.

For the username I needed to put the Domain first then username. Example:

      User:
      Domainname/Shazam

      Password:
      xxxxxxx

      Thanks for the link.
