    I have windows 2003 domain server with xp client desktops. How to deny users from saving .exe or .pdf files to the desktop through Group Policy?

    You can deny write access to the desktop for users through GPO, but you can't filter it trough extension. I do not think it is possible through GPO's. It could be possible if supported by 3th party security tools (TrendMicro or Mcafee Epolicy Orchestrator).

        redirect to network location than use R2 File Screening to block by ext.
