  • FSMO Roles

    Hello,

    Last night for the first time I tried seizing a role and everything appeared to work. No DC had the role of Infrastructure so I ran the ntsdutil.exe utility. I am still seeing other errors though after running dcdiag.exe that I would like to get resolved.

    Here is the first on the list;

    Testing server: sitea\CONTROLLER
    Starting test: Replications
    REPLICATION-RECEIVED LATENCY WARNING
    CONTROLLER: Current time is 2008-04-30 12:59:12.
    CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=01-02-03,DC=domain,DC=com
    Last replication recieved from othercontroller at 2007-02-23 00:57:

    I don't think we have a controller named "othercontroller" could that be causing the latency problem?

    TIA guys/gals

    Re: FSMO Roles

    Perhaps an old DC that wasn't demoted from a DC before being removed?

    Check for any lingering objects in AD and take a look at the following article, maybe it will help:
