  • Backup for runing applications/services

Hi, on our Win 2003 Server is running Lotus Notes. I want to back up complete directory of Lotus Notes with all directories and subdirectories.
    How can I do it?
Is there something to do so without shutting server down ? Some good backup software?
If not, how can I stop the running service and run back using windows scheduler?
    Thnax for all replies!

which backup software do you have currently in use?

    >Is there something to do so without shutting server down ? Some good backup software?

most backup software has agents for lotus domino. for example computer assosiates and veritas.
    please use google first

if they run as a service (never used domino) you can write a batch file with net stop <service> and another one with net start <service>

          sorry, it works.
The only error was in long service name.

net stop "Lotus Domino server (LotusDominoData)"
net start "Lotus Domino server (LotusDominoData)"

I tryed to search something via google, yahoo and ect.

if you want to try is, use the trial version.
you can use them for 30 days, and that's most of the time enough.
just before you ask it: its not allowed to ask or post links to illegal software

u can also use ntbackup, although i wouldn't prefer it. but that's the cheap solution. it's shipped freely with nt4.0 /2000/2003.

Good backups are one of the basics for a company using computers. think about any disaster as example fire. what happend with the company if all the data has been lost?
